By using uParcel or providing us with your personal data, you acknowledge that you understand and accept the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please do not use our services or submit any personal data. However, please note that some services may not be available without certain personal data.


Where consent is not obtained, uParcel may collect, use, or disclose personal data based on exceptions under the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) or as permitted or required by law. Submitting your personal data is voluntary, but withholding information may affect our ability to provide you with certain services.


We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect updates to our data handling practices. Any changes will take effect immediately upon posting on our platform. For significant updates, we will provide prominent notice via uParcel. We recommend checking this policy regularly to stay informed.



Information We Collect

We may collect and process the following types of personal data:


  • Your name, contact number, and location data

  • Information about the device you use to access uParcel, including your IP address and unique device identifiers

  • Cookie and tracking data as outlined in Section 7

  • Any information you provide while using our services

  • Correspondence records when you contact us

If you are a delivery agent registered with uParcel, we may also collect:


  • Contact and registration details that personally identify you

  • Payment information necessary for disbursing fees

  • Ratings provided by other users

  • Performance, operational, and financial data related to your deliveries

If you are a merchant using our services, we may collect:


  • Your name, business contact information, and store integration details

  • Store data accessed via Shopify APIs, such as order details, customer delivery information, and product data

  • Usage logs and interaction records generated through your use of our app

We do not drop cookies or tracking scripts on your storefront or collect behavioral data about how your customers browse your Shopify store. We only access delivery-related information provided through Shopify for the purpose of completing deliveries.



2. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal data for the following purposes:


  • To verify your identity

  • To facilitate bookings, deliveries, and payments

  • To communicate with you, including responding to your queries and notifying you of service changes

  • To monitor, evaluate, and improve our services

  • To investigate issues or potential breaches

  • To send you marketing and promotional materials (with your consent)

  • To understand usage patterns and compile statistics

  • To tailor our offerings and develop new services

  • To match your data with information from third-party sources for the provision of goods and services

  • To support service delivery and marketing activities from us and our affiliates

We do not use merchant customer information for any purpose other than completing delivery services.



3. Disclosure of Your Information

Access to your personal data is restricted to authorized personnel. We may disclose your data to third parties only under the following circumstances:


  • To external service providers or partners who support our operations under strict confidentiality obligations

  • To our agents, affiliates, and associates with appropriate authorization

  • In the event of a sale or restructuring of our business

  • To credit agencies, debt collection agencies, and fraud prevention entities

  • To public authorities or law enforcement where required by law

  • To enforce our terms and protect our rights

  • Where necessary to maintain or enhance our services

Please exercise caution when using uParcel’s social networking features, as any information you share in such spaces may be visible to others. We do not actively monitor these spaces, although we reserve the right to do so.


Your personal data may be transferred outside of Singapore if required for service provision. In such cases, we will ensure appropriate protection measures are in place. Where applicable, we rely on legally recognized safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, to protect data transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA).


Delivery agents, partners, and subcontractors are strictly prohibited from retaining delivery information beyond the purpose of fulfilling the service. Delivery details are masked upon completion of the delivery. Any misuse may result in account termination and financial penalties.



4. Direct Marketing

With your consent or in compliance with applicable laws, we and our affiliates may send you marketing messages through various channels, including SMS or email. These communications may promote:


  • Logistics, transport, and automotive-related services

  • Special events, contests, and member gatherings

  • Reward and loyalty programmes

  • Exclusive offers, promotions, and discounts

  • Products and services offered by our affiliates or partners

  • Charitable or nonprofit campaigns

We may share your data with third-party providers for the purpose of sending marketing communications, but only with your consent or where allowed by law.


You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by contacting us at express@uparcel.sg. Please include the relevant personal data details in your request. After opting out, you may still receive service-related notifications permitted under law.



5. Access and Correction of Personal Data

In accordance with the PDPA, you have the right to:


  • Confirm whether we hold your personal data and request a copy

  • Request correction of any inaccurate personal data

  • Inquire about our personal data policies and types of data we hold

We reserve the right to charge a reasonable fee for access requests. All such requests can be made by email to express@uparcel.sg, clearly stating the details of the personal data involved.



6. Data Protection and Security

We implement appropriate measures to safeguard your data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. If you access our services using a password, please keep it secure and do not share it with others.


While we strive to protect your data, internet transmission is not completely secure. Any data you transmit is at your own risk. Once received, we apply strict procedures to protect it.



7. Use of Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to improve your user experience. Cookies help us remember your preferences, track site usage, and offer better functionality. Some cookies are essential for you to access certain features


We may engage third-party services to analyze usage data. These providers are contractually bound to use data solely for our analytics and service improvement.


You can disable cookies through your browser settings, but doing so may limit your ability to use some features of uParcel. We do not use cookies on merchants' storefronts or track their customers' browsing behavior.



8. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law. Once the data is no longer needed, we will securely delete or anonymize it, unless you request earlier deletion in writing.


For example, we may retain order-related data for up to six years in compliance with financial reporting regulations.


In addition, receiver's details are automatically masked after 180 days to protect customer and recipient privacy.



9. Third-Party Links

Our platform may include links to third-party websites. These sites operate independently and have separate privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of linked sites, though we welcome your feedback regarding them.



10. Shopify Inventory Management App-Specific Privacy Notice

This section applies specifically to users who install and use the uParcel Inventory Management System app on the Shopify App Store.


Data Accessed from Shopify


When you install our app, uParcel accesses certain data from your Shopify store through Shopify’s APIs. Depending on the permissions granted during installation, we may access:


  • Store information (e.g., store name, contact email, store domain)

  • Order data (e.g., order IDs, order items, fulfilment status, and delivery addresses)

  • Product and inventory data (e.g., SKUs, quantities, and location identifiers)

  • Customer delivery details (name, phone number, address) strictly for delivery execution and tracking

We do not access customers’ payment details, browsing behaviour, or marketing analytics data, and we do not place cookies or tracking technologies on your storefront.


Purpose of Processing


We process Shopify-originated data only to:


  • Synchronise your inventory and orders with the uParcel fulfilment system

  • Arrange and complete deliveries

  • Provide delivery updates and operational notifications

  • Generate internal performance and service reports

  • Comply with legal or regulatory obligations

We do not use Shopify merchant or customer data for advertising, analytics, or profiling beyond these purposes


Data Retention and Deletion


  • Data retrieved from Shopify is retained only for as long as necessary to complete fulfilment and related operations.

  • When you uninstall the app, all Shopify-derived data (orders, inventory, and customer delivery data) will be deleted or anonymised within 30 days, unless retention is required by law.

  • Merchants may request earlier deletion by emailing data_protection@uparcel.sg.

Data Sharing and Transfers


We may share Shopify-derived data only with:


  • Delivery partners and logistics providers engaged in completing your orders

  • Cloud hosting or IT service providers under confidentiality and data-processing agreements

  • Government or regulatory bodies where required by law

Data may be processed outside your jurisdiction (e.g., in Singapore or other countries). Where applicable, we apply safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms to ensure adequate protection.


Merchant and Customer Rights


Merchants and their customers may:


  • Request access to, correction of, or deletion of data retrieved from Shopify

  • Withdraw consent or uninstall the app to stop further collection

Requests can be made by contacting data_protection@uparcel.sg. We will respond within a reasonable period and in accordance with applicable data-protection laws (including the PDPA and GDPR, where relevant).


Security


We use encrypted connections (HTTPS and API authentication) when accessing Shopify data, and store all data in secure, access-controlled environments subject to regular security review.


Updates


This Shopify App-Specific Privacy Notice may be updated periodically to meet Shopify App Store or legal requirements. The most recent version will always be available on our website and linked from our Shopify App Store listing.
